Project Description:

Marlins Park is not only the most sustainable ballpark in the country, it’s also the world’s first retractable-roof ballpark to receive LEED Gold certification. As the landscape contractor for the park’s construction, BrightView packed a number of environmentally features into the ballpark’s landscape. A water smart irrigation system consisting of over 18,000 linear feet of sub-drainage piping reduces water use by an estimated 52%. A native plant palette, entirely sourced from within 500-miles of the park, further reduces water use. The stadium’s colorful hardscape is another sustainable feature, featuring crushed recycled glass pavers.

BrightView also lent its expertise to the construction of some notable aspects of the park’s interior, including synthetic turf bullpens, batting tunnels, outfield wall padding, infield clay, home plate and all bases, a removable pitcher’s mound, foul ball netting, and sod installation.
