BrightView Landscapes, LLC and our subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively, “BrightView,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of Personal Information (as defined below) you may provide BrightView through our website at www.brightview.com (“Site”). This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) describes how we collect, store, process, and share your Personal Information. This Policy applies to Personal Information collected on this Site, via email, text any other electronic messages between you and this Site. When you access our Site or otherwise provide BrightView with your Personal Information, you give BrightView your consent to process and use such information in accordance with the terms and conditions of this Policy. Your use of the Site indicates your agreement with the terms of the Policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, your choice is not to use the Site.
“Personal Information” is any data that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked to you or your household, directly or indirectly.
This Policy does not apply to information collected by us offline or through any other means, including any third party website. For registered users who access the password-controlled portion of the Site, any agreement you may have with BrightView that addresses Personal Information may take precedence over this Policy.
Children’s Privacy
Our Site is not directed to children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under age 18. If we learn that a child under the age of 18 has submitted information to us without parental consent, we will take all reasonable measures to delete it from our databases and will not use the information for any purpose other than where it is necessary to protect the child or others. United States Only
Please note that the Site is hosted in the United States, is targeted towards providing services to users located in that country, and that this Policy applies regardless of the country where you are located. If you are visiting from the European Union or other regions with laws governing data collection and use that may differ from U.S. law, please note that you are transferring your personal data to the United States, which does not have the same data protection laws as the EU or other regions. By providing your Personal Information, you agree that you understand this Policy and unambiguously consent to the use of your Personal Information as described in, and in accordance with this Policy, as well as the transfer of your Personal Information across international borders in accordance with BrightView’s standard operations, including the collection, storage, and processing of such information in the United States.
1. Personal Information We Collect

Automatically Collected Information. We may collect information about you and your devices automatically when you visit our Site, including information such as:

- if you navigated from or navigate to another website, the address of that website;

In addition, we may collect information about your activities on our Site through the use of cookies, or web beacons, or through other identifiers or technologies, including similar technologies as they may evolve over time. We refer to these technologies collectively as “Data Technologies.” As discussed in the section below titled “How We May Share Information,” we may allow third parties to use Data Technologies on our Site. The information collected by Data Technologies may be shared with and used by us, by others acting on our behalf, or by third parties subject to their own privacy policies. Information collected by Data Technologies may be used on this Site or on other websites or services, including those that may not be operated by us.
Email. We may collect information regarding the effectiveness of our email and other communications with you. For example, we may know if you follow a link in an email we send to you.
Information from Other Sources. We may obtain Personal Information, from third parties. We may combine the information we obtain from third parties with information that we have collected about you.
2. How We Use Information We Collect
We may use the Personal Information we collect for purposes such as the following:
Operate and Support our Site and Services. We use the information that we gather in order to operate our Site and our services. For example, we may use the information that we collect or receive:
To present our Site and its contents to you;
To provide you with information, products or services that you request from us (including but not limited to the BrightView newsletter);
To fulfill any other purpose for which you provide it;
To provide you with notices about your account, including expiration and renewal notices;
To carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us, including for billing and collection;
To evaluate, update and/or improve the Site and our services;
For security purposes;
To diagnose problems with the server or to administer the Site;
To allow you to participate in interactive features on our Site;
To distinguish you from other users of the Site;
In any other way we may describe when you provide the information.
Advertising and Promotions. We may use the information we gather to offer, provide, or personalize products and services from us. We also may use the information we have collected from you to enable us to display advertisements to our advertisers' target audiences.
Other Contacts. We may contact you by telephone or using other contact information we may have for you, as permitted by law. For example, we may use the information we gather to notify users about service availability, temporary or permanent changes to the Site, our services, or changes to our agreements, policies or this Policy.
Usage Data. Usage Data is collected for statistical purposes to monitor and analyze the use of the Site, and to improve the Site’s functionality. By way of example only, BrightView may use software programs to create summary statistics, which are used for such purposes as assessing the number of visitors to the different sections of our Site, what information is of most and least interest, determining technical design specifications, and identifying system performance or problem areas.
Other Information. Your IP address is used to help identify you and to gather broad demographic information. BrightView may use your IP address to help protect ourselves and our partners from fraud. For system administration purposes, BrightView also logs IP server addresses and catalogues traffic patterns through the Sites. However, BrightView does not link this information to users' Personal Information.
Consent. We may use the information we gather for other purposes where we have individual consent.
3. How We May Share Personal Information
We may share Personal Information to support the purposes for which we may use Personal Information as described or permitted by this Policy, including, but not limited to, the following:
Affiliates and Business Partners: BrightView may share Personal Information with our affiliates and contracted business partners that are directly involved in the sale, distribution, transmission, operation, maintenance, analysis, and support of the Site on our behalf. If these contracted business partners do access any Personal Information it is only so that they may perform their duties on our behalf and BrightView will require those affiliates and business partners to maintain and keep confidential such Personal Information in accordance with this Policy.
Service Providers. We may share Personal Information with third party service providers who help us operate our Site or provide services on our behalf. This includes information entered into forms you submit through the website, including the search bar. These service providers include analytics companies and advertising networks that provide Data Technologies on our Site. Our partners include Facebook (Meta) and Google.
We use “Google Analytics” to collect information about the usage of the Site. This service collects information about how often users visit the Site, the pages they visit and when they visit those pages, information they submit to the Site, and other additional information. We use this information to improve our website and our services. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with your Personal Information. We also use the “Facebook Meta Pixel” to collect information about the visitors to our Site. This is used to assist us with developing customer profiles for our advertising. Information on Meta Facebook’s privacy policy may be found here. To configure the advertisements you receive through Facebook, you can access Facebook’s page here and follow their instructions.
In the Event of a Business Transfer. If Brightview is involved in a potential or actual sale of assets, merger, acquisition, business transfer or other change of control of all or part of the company, we may share your information with other entities involved in the transaction. We may share your information as part of the negotiations performed in connection with such a transaction or at its completion. We will require any such successor business entity to provide the same or greater protections as those provided in the Policy and we will notify you of any changes that could affect your Personal Information. In the event of a business transfer, unless we are otherwise required by law to retain your information or to provide it to the other entity, you may request the deletion of your information from our records.
Protection of Ourselves and Others. BrightView releases account and other Personal Information when such release is (a) at the request of law enforcement or (b) necessary to comply with the law, enforce or apply our Terms of Use or other agreements, protect the rights, property, or safety of BrightView and/or our users, and in connection with a legal claim or proceeding. This may include exchanging information with other companies and organizations as part of our efforts to prevent fraud and identity theft.
4. Choices Regarding Your Personal Information
You may limit and control the information provided to us in a number of ways. For example, you may unsubscribe from promotional emails from us by following the unsubscribe link included in each such email. Your browser and your device may provide you the option to limit the use of cookies or other Data Technologies. You should consult documentation for your browser or device for more information. Your decision to accept or reject a BrightView cookie will not affect your ability to access the Site, however, the Site may not function as intended if a cookie is rejected.
Do Not Track (DNT) is a privacy preference that users can set in some web browsers, allowing users to opt out of tracking by websites and online services. At the present time, the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) has not yet established universal standards for recognizable DNT signals and therefore, BrightView and the Site do not recognize DNT
5. Data Retention
BrightView retains information you provide, including without limitation Personal Information, for as long as necessary to (a) permit BrightView to use it for the purposes described in this Policy, and (b) comply with applicable law or regulation.
6. Accessing and Updating Your Information
You can review and change your personal information by logging into the Site and visiting your account profile page. You may also send us an e-mail at [email protected] to request access to, correct or delete any personal information that you have provided to us. We cannot delete your personal information except by also deleting your user account. We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.
7. U.S. Consumer Privacy Rights
In some jurisdictions, applicable law may entitle you to certain rights regarding your personal data, for example the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”). Depending on your location, applicable law may provide you with the following rights with respect to your Personal Information:
- Know and Access. The right to know what Personal Information we have collected about you and to request access to your Personal Information.
- Correction. The right to request that we correct your Personal Information if that information is inaccurate.
- Deletion. The right to request that we delete any personal information we have collected about you (subject to certain exceptions). As noted above, we may deny your deletion request where we are legally required to retain your Personal Information.
- Portability. The right to obtain a copy of your Personal Information in a portable and, to the extent technically feasible, readily useable format.
- Opt-Out. The right to opt out of the sharing of your personal data if it is used for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Non-Discrimination. The right to not be discriminated against for the exercise of your privacy rights.
- Sensitive Information. The right to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information collected about you.
Other than the sharing described above under “How We May Share Personal Information,” BrightView does not sell your personal information to third parties. Additionally, BrightView does not share (as defined by the CPRA) your personal information with third parties.
You may submit a request to exercise any of the above rights by calling 844.235.7778 or visiting www.BrightView.com/contact. If you choose to assert any of these rights under applicable law, we will respond within the time period prescribed by such law. When you exercise these rights and submit a request to us, we will verify your identity by asking you for information, which may include but may not be limited to your name, email address, home address, and phone number. We also may use a third party verification provider to verify your identity. If we cannot verify your identity, we will not be able to honor your request.
You may also submit a request to exercise any of the above rights through an authorized agent. If you do so, the agent must present us with signed written permission to act on your behalf and we may seek to verify your identity. Authorized agents may submit requests as described above.
In certain jurisdictions, if we decline to take action regarding your request, you are entitled to appeal that decision. We will inform you in writing of any action taken or not taken in response to the appeal, including a written explanation of our rationale.
8. Security of Personal Information
The security and confidentiality of your information are important to us. BrightView uses physical, logical, and procedural security measures to protect the Personal Information you provide to BrightView. However, while BrightView uses commercially reasonable steps to protect the Personal Information you provide to BrightView from unauthorized access, use or disclosure, no Internet data transmission can be guaranteed to be secure from access by unintended recipients. If you have any questions about security on our Site, please contact us using the information listed at the bottom of this Policy.
In addition, a password is required to access certain parts of the Site (such as our “BrightView Connect” offering). You are responsible for taking appropriate steps to preserve the confidentiality of your login information. Do not reuse your password across websites and use a strong (complex) password phrase (such as a sentence) rather than a single word or alphanumeric string.
9. Links
The Site may contain links to other Sites that are operated or owned by third parties. Please note that when you click on one of these links, you are navigating to another Site. BrightView does not monitor the privacy practices or, or exercise authority over, those third parties. BrightView encourages you to read the privacy policies of these linked sites as their privacy policies may differ from ours. BrightView is not responsible or liable for the privacy practices or the content of these third-party web sites; if you access a third party Site from our Site, you do so at your own risk.
10. Updates to This Policy
When we make material changes to this Policy, we will update this web page and change the date first listed above. We encourage you to regularly review the Policy.
