Infinity Sculpture Showcased in Upcoming Napa Valley Resort
BrightView designed the landscaping around the 8-ton structure, which sits atop a hill overlooking the Stanly Ranch Resort, part of the Auberge Resorts Collection.
Northern California’s scenic Napa Valley is now home to a remarkable infinity sculpture designed by local Napa artist, Gordon Huether, with landscape architecture provided by BrightView Design Group. The 8-ton structure sits atop a hill overlooking the Stanly Ranch Resort, part of the Auberge Resorts Collection. The sculpture was installed on Nov. 25 and is now a showcase piece for those who visit the up-and-coming wine country destination.
The towering loop of rust colored corten steel, rises above the highest point of Stanly Ranch Resort, the first phase of which is scheduled to open in summer 2021. The structure is 20 feet high, 60 feet long and 40 feet wide and is visible as visitors to Napa Valley cross over the Napa River.
“BrightView Design worked with talented artist Gordon Huether and developed a plan for how to position the infinity art sculpture so that it fits seamlessly with the landscape for the Stanly Ranch Resort property,” said Eliot Hoyt, AICP, BrightView Design Group Principal. “We designed the landscape around the sculpture to complement its simple form and powerful message.”
Huether designed “Infinity” and worked with BrightView to ensure the landscape around the sculpture contributed to the balanced and healthy lifestyle and integrated agricultural concept the Stanly Ranch Resort embraces. The area where the structure sits will be a destination for contemplative activities, such as yoga and meditation, and small events.
Since 2013, BrightView has been working on the master planning and landscape architecture for the new resort on the 95-acre property.
“Gordon’s sculpture responds to the land so our landscape had to respond to it,” Hoyt said.
