Transforming Philadelphia’s Urban Landscape

BrightView is helping add more flare to Philly through an ambitious high-rise luxury apartment renovation in the heart of the city, bringing elevated outdoor living to one of its most vibrant neighborhoods.

The project, located near Fishtown, will fully transform an existing building into high-end residential units from top to bottom. BrightView’s work includes multiple rooftop patios, custom planters and tree installations, extensive hardscape features, and site furnishings designed to create inviting, functional outdoor spaces. To date, crews have installed more than 42,000 brick pavers.

Working in a dense urban environment presents unique challenges, and the team is meeting them head-on. The project requires multiple crane lifts, the transport of hundreds of tons of soil to rooftop gardens on the second and seventh floors, and careful coordination within tight city confines—all while maintaining safety and precision.

“This project really shows what BrightView does best in an urban setting,” said Nick Troutman, Exton Branch Manager. “We’re improving the city by turning underutilized spaces into beautiful, functional environments that people will enjoy every day.”

The effort is led on-site by Site Manager Kevin Hendricks and Crew Lead Hugo Escobedo, whose teams are executing complex work that enhances both the property and the surrounding community.
