Dorchester Branch Keeps Their Ducks in Line—Literally

Some days just aren’t normal.

That was the case while our crew from the Dorchester branch was servicing a national account in New Hampshire.

The team was approached by the company’s security team, who urgently requested their assistance with nine ducklings that were stuck in a nearby storm drain.

Without hesitation, the team sprang into action, creating an improvised fishing basket out of a milk crate and trimmer line that could be lowered down to the ducks.

One-by-one, the BrightView team pulled eight of the nine ducklings from the storm drain and returned them to their mother, who was now located in a nearby pond.

Rescuing the ninth duck proved to be a bit more difficult as it kept getting stuck in the storm drain’s side pipe. 

Thinking quickly again, the team pulled up a mother duck sound on their phone, which lured the duckling from the side pipe into the basket, ultimately reuniting it with mom and its eight brothers and sisters in the pond.
