Team Members Rescue Woman from Sinking Car
It was a typical October day for BrightView team members Octavio Valasquez and Manuel Gonzalez Jaramillo as they went about their business at the Royal Palms HOA Community in Port Orange, Fla.
And then they became heroes.
Looking up from their equipment, they noticed a car heading into a pond near the clubhouse.
With the car and unresponsive woman quickly sinking, the two BrightView team members jumped into the water, pried open the door, and rescued the woman.
“Thank you to the crew for their brave act that saved this woman’s life,” said Lindsey Taylor, Community Association Manager. “Without their quick action, this situation could have turned for the worse.”
“I just want to express my sincere gratitude for the crew,” said Jan Josken, Royal Palm HOA President. “They responded quickly and saved a life. I always knew we had a special crew.”
“We are so proud of Octavio and Manuel for their selfless actions,” said David Moss, BrightView Associate Branch Manager, Florida Central. “Their bravery is to be commended and we are so happy to have them on our team.”
The driver was rushed to a local hospital and is in stable condition thanks to the quick thinking and actions of BrightView’s latest heroes.
