Beacon Park Rendering
Beacon Park, part of the Great Park Neighborhoods in Irvine, Calif., won the Excellence in Design Merit Award for Parks and Recreation by the American Society of Landscape Architects, as well as three other awards.

Nine landscapes in San Diego maintained by BrightView were recently recognized as 2016 Beautification Award winners by the California Landscape Contractors Association’s (CLCA) San Diego chapter.

The CLCA is a nonprofit trade organization of licensed landscape and landscape-related contractors.

The San Diego chapter annually recognizes licensed landscape contractors which work to conserve water while continuing to maintain beautiful landscape.

BrightView received first place awards for Commercial Maintenance Small on the ViaSat property, for Commercial Maintenance Large on the Intuit property, and for Watersmart Landscape Maintenance on the Carmel Mountain Town Center property.

BrightView also received Achievement Awards in the categories of Commercial Maintenance Small, Commercial Maintenance Large, Multi-Unit Maintenance Large, Watersmart Landscape Maintenance, and Turf Conversion Small.

“The Intuit property is a large, active campus installed by BrightView Landscape Development and has been maintained by BrightView Landscape Services, including tree care by BrightView Tree Company,” said Brian Maynard, BrightView’s Regional Key Account Manager. “This secure campus, with its many outdoor amenities, highlights a very large Mediterranean plant pallet. Through California’s drought years, this site has continued to flourish, delighting the third-party ownership group and the tenant.”

The Judges Award for Best Overall Maintenance was given to BrightView for its work at The Alexandria at Torrey Pines property.

“The project that won the Judges Award has a very unique design using many outdoor areas designed for biotech tenant’s use,” Maynard said. “The landscape plantings were designed to create different venues, including informal gardens, bocce ball courts, dry stream beds, and subtropical areas that all utilize low-water plants. Outside meeting areas allow tenants to use the outdoors as an extension of the building offices.”

BrightView Landscape Development has also received recent recognition from the Texas Nursey & Landscape Association with its Texas Excellence in Landscaping awards.

The judging is based on the difficulty, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.

BrightView’s Texas Development team won two Gold Awards for its work at the Seaholm Power Plant renovation and for the green roof installed at the University of Texas at Austin’s Dell Medical School.

BrightView Design Group was also awarded for six different projects in California by the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Pacific Coast Builders Conference and the Greater Sales and Marketing Council. These award winning properties  include:
