The BrightView team that maintains the campus is now operating entirely with low-emission electric mowers and hand-held equipment. With each mower running an average of 300 hours per year, the team expects this will eliminate the amount of emissions equivalent to approximately 1,500 cars averaging 12,000 miles each year.

Students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School were working on an outdoor learning space and after the tragedy of Feb. 14, BrightView offered its services to help improve the area. The students, faculty, and BrightView worked together to finish the garden and installed a reflective and tranquility garden as a place to learn and heal, featuring 17 granite stones for the lives lost in the tragedy.

At Southern Connecticut State University, students, faculty, staff, and members of the community worked together to create a Remembrance Garden, featuring the university's Alumnae Sandy Hook Memorial to honor the memory of the four alumni educators who were lost in the tragedy.
